SESGallery and SESPlotViewer
A few recent improvements have been made to SESGallery and SESPlotViewer, two complementary tools within SES Software designed to enhance how engineering data, especially grounding and electromagnetic interference study results, are presented.
SESGallery has evolved into a full application that centralizes the viewing of plots, reports, and various document types. It will replace the legacy GraRep viewer and supports a wide range of file formats, including images, PDFs, and SES-specific files. The interface combines a thumbnail gallery with a main viewing area, allowing users to easily browse, organize, and inspect documents. It also offers flexible layout options for side-by-side comparisons, combination of plots, and integration with other SES applications. These capabilities make it easier to manage and interpret collections of related results in a single environment.
A key advancement in SESGallery is its ability to handle interactive and dynamic plots generated by SESPlotEngine. Users can combine multiple plots into a single figure for comparison, cycle through documents to observe trends, and benefit from improved performance when viewing plots in non-edit mode. Additional features such as customizable layouts and embedding within other tools (e.g., SESTransient and SESFFT) further enhance their usefulness.
Meanwhile, SESPlotViewer continues to focus on creating and refining interactive 2D plots. Recent updates improve readability and data analysis, including more distinguishable line styles, particularly for thin lines, and a new “series cycling” feature that highlights individual data series sequentially. These enhancements help users better interpret complex datasets and communicate findings more clearly in both analysis and presentation contexts.
