studies will be pleased to hear that Right-of-Way has now fully integrated magnetic field inductive coupling and conductive through-earth coupling calculations into one package, so that you no longer have to carry out these calculations independently and then combine the results together manually. Another long-awaited development, about which we are quite excited, is the implementation of multilayer soil structures in HIFREQ, which now makes HIFREQ a viable and more accurate alternative to MALZ in most cases. Furthermore, SESCAD has been provided with a right-of-way creation function, which can make HIFREQ an attractive alternative to Right-of-Way for some electromagnetic compatibility studies. Indeed, HIFREQ has rapidly outstripped its originally anticipated application to lightning and transient studies: it can be used to design antennae and waveguides! MALT and MALZ have not been left by the wayside: MALT now boasts the ability to model plate conductors, whereas MALZ now allows GPR energizations and the specification of lumped parameters. A host of other enhancements have been made to the various modules of the CDEGS software package. Last, but not least, SES has continued to expand the capabilities of the AutoGroundDesign software, which shows much promise as a powerful integrated and automated grounding design tool. SES intends to continue this process of rendering the software more powerful, more efficient and more automated. We realize that business pressures demand that you deliver your work product faster and faster. We also realize that you may not use the software every day or even every month. We look to you to tell us what enhancements would be most helpful to you. SES values your partnership in the software development process, both at the users’ group meeting and when you call for support and express your thoughts about what you like and don’t like. We are grateful to you for your feedback. |

The 15th annual CDEGS Grounding and Electromagnetic Interference Conference is held in beautiful New Orleans, Louisiana! We have a record turnout this year. SES is proud to unveil a new version of CDEGS on this occasion. You will immediately notice that the main interface has been redesigned to provide you with more efficient access to data entry, launching the calculations and result display functions. Those of you who carry out electromagnetic compatibility |
