ROWCAD: New Graphical Interface for Right-of-Way |
You can now edit the path data of Right-of-Way graphically! The new ROWCAD program is a 3D graphical environment that you can use to visualize, specify and edit the path data of a Right-of-Way file. This program is specifically designed to manipulate efficiently the type of geometrical data encountered in AC interference studies. It should greatly reduce the time devoted to data entry and verification when working with Right-of-Way. In ROWCAD, the paths can be specified by directly providing the coordinates of the |

path points or by importing them from MALZ input files. You can assign soil and attribute set information to any path portion; the information is immediately displayed along the paths, making it easy to verify that the assignment is correct. The program automatically determines the locations of the Right-of-Way regions along the paths in such a way as to maximize the strength of the interactions between the paths, freeing you from this often tedious and error prone task. It produces data that can be imported directly in Right-of-Way. |
GRSPLITS-3D: Powerful Viewer & Editor for SPLITS Circuit Files |
GRSPLITS-3D is a new program that allows you to view and edit the circuit data of SPLITS input files. It can also display simultaneously the computation results of SPLITS, making it easy to identify problem areas in a circuit. It builds on, and vastly improves, the capabilities of the GRSPLITS program available in SES Software for several years. The program displays the SPLITS |
circuit in an interactive 3D graphical environment. You can choose to view or hide any part of the circuit by selecting the terminals, busses or sections to display. This allows you to focus on the portions of interest in the circuit, eliminating distracting background clutter. You can also use standard navigation tools to zoom in on any area of the circuit. The impedances, voltage and current sources and other elements of the circuit are displayed using standard symbols to allow for quick recognition of those elements. Hovering the mouse cursor over any element brings up a window showing detailed information about this element (e.g., the value of its impedance, the current flowing through it, its potential, etc...). The circuit display can also be color coded to reflect those numerical values. The values of the impedances can be modified in the built-in properties editor, and the changes can be saved in the SPLITS file. This should help simplify the process of reviewing and revising any SPLITS circuit model. |
ROWCAD Integration & New Monitor Fault& Total Interference Options in Right-Of-Way |
· In addition to the integration of the new ROWCAD and GRSPLITS-3D tools, several new features were added to the Right-Of-Way package. Among those: · It is now possible to use current sources for multiple-terminal right-of-way systems. · Automatic corrections can now be applied to the shunt impedance of bare conductors and to the energization of towers to account for soil variations along the right-of-way. · The computation of mutual impedances between widely separated conductors is now faster and more accurate. |
