Back to the Front Page
In March 2001, SES launched its new web site. The look, structure and navigation have significantly changed. Among the many functionalities of www.sestech.com, you will find:

  • A new secure download area for software updates
  • Online registration for SES’ seminars, Annual Users’ Group Meetings and software users information
  • A discussion forum on electrical engineering and/or the use of CDEGS
  • A search engine for web site content
  • A new Frequently Asked Questions section
  • An online slide show on the CDEGS software package

A New Secure Download Area For Software Updates
One of the most notable change in the new web site is the improved download area for software updates. Contrary to the old system where you were redirected to a standard FTP interface, the new system redirects you to an easy to use HTML page which clearly indicates which files are available to download, their description, date and file size. This page also uses the HTTP protocol for downloading instead of the FTP protocol. This is to accommodate some CDEGS users whose network policies prohibited them for using the FTP protocol. The FTP protocol is the standard internet protocol for file transfer. Many companies now prohibit their network users from using this protocol in an effort to protect the network from users downloading virus-infected files from the internet. Online Registration
The new web site can be used for online registrations to the following events:

SES’ Discussion Forum
On August 31, 2000, SES launched its first online discussion forum (www.sestech.com/forum/forum.asp). This discussion group focuses on electrical engineering and the use of the CDEGS software. This forum which now has over 150 members offers an optional email service. This service automatically sends an email to all registered forum users when a new post is added to the forum.

Search Engine
A search engine accessible from every page of the web site is a new feature of www.sestech.com. This search engine enables a web visitor to search the entire web site for content.

Frequently Asked Question
This new section (www.sestech.com/q_a/FAQ.asp) contains answers to frequently asked questions on various topics ranging from the use of the CDEGS software to installation issues.

Online CDEGS slide show
This new internet slide show demonstrates an example of the study of a substation grounding in simple/complex soil structures using the AutoGround / MultiGround software packages. This slide show is only avalable for the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.
