Equipment Suppliers
SES is pleased to provide the following links to test equipment suppliers, who have provided
good service and good products to SES in the past. Note that SES is not related to these
companies and therefore has no control over the future quality of the services and products
provided by these firms.
For purchase of earthing/grounding test equipment: Mitton Instruments Ltd.
For rental or purchase of soil resistivity testers: Terraplus Inc.
For rental of a large variety of test instruments: Electro Rent Corporation
For the purchase of electronic components (and very useful sales reps): Digi-Key Corporation
Earthing/Grounding Test Equipment by Mitton Instruments
Testing of power system earthing systems using medium current off-frequency
current injection provides an accurate means of assessing earthing system safety.
It is one of the suggested methods in IEEE 81. Off-frequency injection methods enable
testing of both large and small earthing systems.
Measuring Equipment by Terraplus
Terraplus (
www.terraplus.ca) offers three versions of resistivity meters that
vary principally with the amount of transmitting power. These instruments all
feature a unique two channel design allowing simultaneous measurement of voltage
and current. They also feature automatic stacking and averaging of data, along
with automatic correction of self potential (the ambient field present at the
survey site). These features allow superior noise rejection. These meters have
been traditionally used for geologic mapping and are now being discovered by the
utility industry for their exceptional data quality. Please visit Terraplus
site for complete specifications.
